Did you know that an ancient Divine Mother is linked to the Winter Solstice?

In the far North, and long before Santa Claus made his reindeer-led sleigh ride, the longest night of the year, the Winter Solstice, honored and celebrated Mother’s Night.

During the darkest time of the year, our Mother's Night Celebration will unite people from around the world to call back the sun and dispel darkness.

The Mother's Night Celebration has it's roots in Northern Europe to instill hope in the return of sunlight during the darkest time of the year.

During our Mother's Night Celebration, we will ride the night sky on the red sleigh of the Reindeer Mother as we search the 4 directions for the sun.

In Northern European traditions, this ceremonial ride would be led by Mother Reindeer, the Deer Mother, or the Sun Goddess.

It is also the time of year when we honor our Ancestral Mothers.

What To Expect

We will gather together under the bells of the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis
An honoring ceremony to our Ancestral Mother's.
A short presentation about the Reindeer Mother and the traditions that surround her.
A guided journey and ceremony with the Reindeer Mother to find the sun.
The ceremony will end with us returning fully into the present moment.
To complete our time together we will enjoy a snack and beverage (suggestions to follow) as well as leaving a gratitude offering to the birds and animals outside.

Meet Your Host ~ Valarie Budayr

Valarie Budayr is an impassioned mentor and teacher, providing learning and healing space for individuals and groups.

With over 31 years of teaching experience, Valarie invites her students, and clients into immersive explorations of the self. She believes that each person is capable of their own healing. Her mission is to share the beauty and wonder of the world, inspiring and empowering people into their best and fullest selves.

Valarie is a certified Sound Practitioner as well as an award winning author/publisher.

Embracing the Tietäjä (one who knows) culture of Northern Karelia as well as carrying a stave in the Seidr traditions of Scandinavia, much of what she teaches and shares is based on song, sound, soul, story, and the natural world.
